Question: Wii fit for 6 minutes running in place vs. walking for 30 minutes? (Posted by: Skylight on 2009-04-23 11:40:01) I walked 30 minutes the other day and broke a sweat by the end of it. I used my wii today and ran for 6- 7 minutes and broke the same amount of sweat by the time i had finished that walk for 30 minutes. So, does this mean the 6 minute run is better than a 30 minute walk? Even though I used the wii for a total of an hour. but thats not the question

Posted by: joshua on 2009-04-23, 11:51:33 Walking 30min you heart rate is rasied higher for longer...(burn more cals) also your muscles are being used for a longer period of time runing 6mins is rasing your heart rate much higher then walking but not enough to make a diffence for long.... walking 30min is much better when i was in the army we did 60 -120s run for 60sec then walk for 120sec (repeat) ....this keeps you heart rate up also helps your lungs with running ...and if gives your mind somethng concentrate on....after doing this a while you will find you can run for longer and you can even make the intervals harder 60-60s
